Accessing eBooks on a computer

  1. Go to the cloudLibrary website. (Available through
  2. Click the Download App button in the upper right of the screen.
  3. Choose PC App or Mac App on the left side of the screen. Download the app.
  4. Open the app. Follow the prompts and login.
  5. A pop up box will appear asking you to activate your computer. Leave it set to Automatically generate ID for cloudLibrary, unless you have an Adobe ID you’d prefer to enter.
  6. Find a book on the Featured lists or click Browse to see additional titles.
  7. To check out an eBook, click on the cover. Click the green Borrow button. The book will automatically download into My Books. To start reading your eBook, click the cover.
  8. If the book is unavailable, place a hold by clicking the Add to Hold List button. To be notified of your hold, click Settings. Click Yes, notify me and enter your email address.

Transferring eBooks from a computer to an eReader

  1. Turn on your eReader and plug it into the computer.
  2. Click the My Books tab in the cloudLibrary app, and click the Transfer to Device button.
  3. The book will automatically expire after 21 days. To remove the book from your Kobo, tap and hold the cover. Tap Remove.

Accessing eBooks on a tablet or smartphone

  1. Access the app store on your device and search for the free cloudLibrary app. Install.
  2. Open the app on your device.
  3. Select a Language.
  4. Select Country as Canada, select State/Region as Alberta, then select Library as Parkland Regional Library and enter your library barcode and PIN.
  5. To search for titles, tap the Search icon at the bottom of the app screen.
  6. You can enter a title search in the search bar or tap Featured or All tabs for more selection. To curate favorite genres, tap the Favorites tab and then the Let’s Go button to choose genres.
  7. To check out a title, tap the cover of a title, then tap Borrow.
  8. To read immediately, tap Read.
  9. Put unavailable titles on hold by tapping Hold.
  10. If you can’t find a title you’re looking for, you can suggest a title. Click the 3 bar Filter icon in the top right. Tap the Suggestions for library slider and click Apply. Return to the search screen and tap Suggest, which will now be visible.
  11. To receive email hold notifications, tap Account at the bottom of the app screen, then tap Notifications. Tap 2 sliders for Notifications and Digital Hold Pick-up, then tap Email Notifications. Enter your email address then tap Apply.
  12. Tap My Books at the bottom of the app screen to see your checked out titles. To open and read, tap the Read button. To return a title, tap Return.


Cloudlibrary titles are automatically returned after 21 days.
