Help Out

Recommend a Book:

Read a great book recently? We welcome book recommendations, and will review your suggestion during our next order. Please check the catalogue to ensure we don't already have the title!

Donate:

If you or your business would like to help out the Blackfalds Public Library, here are some ideas how:

  • Give a tax deductible donation. There are many ways your donation can be used: improve a collection of books; program development; to purchase art; or in any way the donor would like.
  • Donate books. If you donate a book purchased within the last three months and include your receipt, the library will issue a tax-deductible receipt for the fair market value of the book at the time of the donation. You can also donate used books, which we will either add to our shelves, donate to another library, or sell in our donation book shelf.
  • Adopt a Magazine! If you would like to see a particular magazine on our magazine rack, why not donate a subscription? A message of your choice will be affixed to the cover of each issue, presenting a fantastic advertising opportunity! Contact us for more information.
  • Donate via CanadaHelps.org.

Volunteering Opportunities:

Junior Volunteers are always welcome at the library. If you are in grade five to grade 10 and looking for a great volunteer opportunity, please drop in and speak to Teressa or email her This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Adults interested in volunteering should contact Carley Binder here at the library. We are also looking for new members for the Friends of the Library group. The group participates in fund-raising, enhancing our collection, adding new services, improving our facilities, and volunteering within the library. Another purpose of the Friends of the Library is to provide political support for the library and to increase the visibility of the library in the community. The use of the Friends of the Library to promote the library can work in both formal and informal ways. As well as taking news of the library out into the community, the group can be used to increase the level of community input into library policies and plans. An annual membership fee and lapel pin is only $5.00. If you would like to join the Society of the Friends of the Blackfalds Public Library please drop in or call 885-2343.

Employment Opportunities:

The Blackfalds Public Library is currently not looking for any positions.  Thank you
